Make Your Child a Game Inventor

Is your game cabinet bursting at the seams? Do you have games in the back corners that have become boring? Or games that are missing parts?

Then simply create new games from the old game materials — think of it as game upcycling.

I’ll happily show you how it’s done!

Discover the world of DIY games!

Children love to craft and they love to play. It makes perfect sense to combine these two passions.

This works wonderfully with Do-It-Yourself games.

Creating and making something by themselves is always fun for children. And when their creations are not just gathering dust on the shelf, but are actually being used and played with, it’s doubly gratifying for them.

*DIY stands for ‘Do It Yourself,’ which means making things yourself, like game boards, figures, cards, etc.

Promote creativity and learning through engaging DIY games

Unleashing the imagination

Promote creative, innovative, and solution-oriented thinking.

Hands-on learning

Engage in hands-on, entertaining activities that encourage active participation.

Build and Play

Experience the joy of creating games and playing them with friends and family.

Designed to inspire young minds and foster essential life skills, these games offer a unique opportunity for hands-on learning. From the initial spark of an idea to the final stages of building and playing, participants are guided on a journey that encourages imagination, critical thinking, and collaboration.

It is paradoxical that many educators and parents still differentiate between a time for learning and a time for playing, without recognizing the essential connection between them.

DIY games are more than just a nice pastime

Foster creativity

They foster your child’s creativity and inventiveness.

Experience self-efficacy

Children actively participate, make decisions, and experience self-efficacy.

Sustainability

Reusing (game) materials conserves resources and promotes environmental awareness.

Strengthen family bonds

It strengthens family bonds when you build and play together.

Enhance school skills

… and incidentally, your child can also practice things that are important for school, such as calculating results, reading cards, cutting, coloring, thinking outside the box, etc.

DIY games offer not only fun but also strengthen family bonds when you build and play together. In addition, you promote important school-relevant skills such as math, map reading, and creative thinking. Reusing materials is resource-efficient and enhances environmental awareness. Children actively participate, make decisions, and experience self-efficacy, which further develops their problem-solving skills.

What my customers say

“We turned a rainy afternoon into a great adventure thanks to the DIY game ‘Treasure Hunt.’ Making the game ourselves was just as enjoyable as playing it. Thank you for this wonderful idea!”
Nadine, 31
Mother of a son
“The game instructions from Game Inventors are simply fantastic! My children used the same instructions to build two completely different games: my son built a car rally, and my daughter built a unicorn race. Each exactly the way they wanted!”
Michaela, 42
Mother of 2 children
"I was initially skeptical whether my kids would enjoy making a board game themselves, but with Sandra’s instructions, it was very easy and they participated enthusiastically! It was a great experience for the whole family."

About me

Hi, I’m Sandra, mother of two children and an enthusiastic board game fan.

I invented my first game over 30 years ago during my training as a preschool teacher. We sawed, painted, glued, and crafted – and we all had an incredible amount of fun.

I want that parents can spend the time they have with their children each day relaxing with enjoyable activities and having fun together. And if ‘learning vocabulary’ is on the agenda, then please make it part of a game rather than an unpleasant ‘interrogation situation’.

We don’t have to make life unnecessarily difficult for ourselves and our children…
